BRISTOL, England — Developers who use Java can now take advantage of EmvJ — a Java version of CreditCall's successful EMV kernels for Windows and embedded systems.
According to a news release, CreditCall has added EmvJ to its existing suite of EMV transaction-processing software. The Java interface provided by EmvJ, which is based on the software architecture of the EmvX kernel, offers a method of adding EMV Level 2 functionality to any Java-based application.
The EMVJ kernel addresses a common complaint about Java-based EMV solutions — primarily memory footprint and performance. EmvJ uses the latest EMVCo optimizations, making it significantly faster than other Java-based kernels.
"The ability to easily add new features across multiple hardware platforms and operating systems, without impacting existing functionality, is a key reason why many developers have chosen to implement Java-based solutions," said CreditCall's technical director Jeremy Gumbley.
