To help small businesses take advantage of the convenience and cost savings of remote deposit capture, NCR Corp. has announced the launch of an OEM agreement with Document Capture Technologies Inc. to offer a cost-effective hardware and software bundle that enables financial institutions to offer small businesses a remote deposit solution.
According to a news release from NCR, the total market potential for RDC is estimated to include 27 million small U.S. businesses. Boston-based financial consultancy Celent says the adoption of remote deposit capture should increase by more than 400 percent over the next three years.
RDC enables businesses to scan check images and transmit those images to their FIs for processing. This process improves and speeds funds availability, reduces courier and fraud costs and improves internal reporting capabilities, NCR says.
NCR's solution integrates NCR APTRA Commercial Passport with a cost-effective scanner from Document Capture Technologies and a specialized scanner software driver from Silver Bullet Technology, which allows NCR to provide technical support.
