Houston-based Cardtronics Inc. has announced a deal with Supermercados Grande to place ATMs in its supermarkets across Puerto Rico. Supermercados Grande is one of the largest supermarket chains in Puerto Rico.
According to a news release from Cardtronics, the five-year ATM deal ensures that the supermarket chain's customers have access to cash. Cardtronics will place ATMs in nine Supermercados Grande supermarkets, with deployment planned for the fourth quarter of 2009.
"Cardtronics is committed to playing an important and leading role in satisfying the cash needs of Puerto Rico's residents and visitors," said Jorge Fernandez, Cardtronics' senior vice president. "By partnering with Supermercados Grande, Cardtronics will serve a large customer base in highly visible, high quality locations."
