Diebold Inc. has named Charles E. (Chuck) Ducey, Jr. executive vice president of North America operations.

According to a news release, Ducey, 54, in his new position will lead the company's financial self-service and security operations in North America, including all related sales, customer support and services. He also will lead Diebold's growing Integrated Services business and will continue to oversee global software development, product management and marketing.

Dave Bucci, 58, senior vice president for Diebold's customer solutions group, is retiring after more than 30 years with the company. He will continue to work with Diebold on a consulting basis.
"Chuck brings outstanding qualifications and experience to this position and is the ideal person to sustain and grow our business in North America," said Thomas W. Swidarski, Diebold's president and chief executive. "As the North America market develops into a more mature phase, it is critical that we adapt along with it —  and Chuck has the right skill set to lead those efforts."

Ducey joined Diebold in 1978 and has held various field and home office positions, including the position of vice president, service operations and finance for the North American sales and service division. He held other leadership positions for Diebold in the areas of software, services and finance before being named to his most recent role as senior vice president, global development and services.

Ducey holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from The University of Akron in Ohio and a master's degree in business administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
Bucci joined the company in 1977 as a sales trainee in Syracuse, N.Y. He has held various sales and management positions with Diebold, including vice president for the Eastern division. Prior to his most recent position with Diebold, Bucci served as senior vice president of North American sales and service.

A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Bucci received a bachelor's degree in education from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., and completed master's work at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
