NCR Corp. has announced the sale of its 50,000th NCR SelfServ ATM. Launched less than two years ago, the NCR SelfServ ATM line is NCR's most popular.
According to a news release from NCR, the SelfServ ATM line has been purchased by more than 680 financial institutions in more than 110 countries. The largest number of NCR SelfServ orders has been for multifunction units — ATMs with additional features such as "intelligent" automated deposits. By adding multifunction ATMs, FIs set the stage for more self-service options in the future, like bill payment and money remittance.
NCR SelfServ ATMs also have been designed with self-healing technologies that allow the ATMs to recover automatically without the need for human intervention, and dual-roll receipt printers that ensure the ATM won't run out of paper. Graphical operator panels allow bank employees to quickly and effectively perform routine maintenance tasks that ensure SelfServ ATMs are always "in service" when consumers want them.
