B of A computer specialist set to plead guilty to inside ATM hack

According to ComputerWorld.com (via IDG News Service), a Bank of America computer specialist is scheuled to plead guilty to charges of computer fraud after allegedly hacking ATM computer code at Bank of America networks so the bank's automated tellers would dispense cash without recording the activity.

Rodney Reed Caverly, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was charged last week with one count of computer fraud for allegedly writing a malware program that ran on Bank of America's computers and ATMs. Court documents do not give the bank's total losses, but do indicate that Caverly took more than the statutory minimum of $5,000.
